Partner Carl Baker, head of the firm’s Trusts and Estates practice group, attended the New York State Bar Association’s annual meeting in New York City from January 27th to the 29th.  On Wednesday, the Trusts & Estates Law Section held its Continuing Legal Education Program entitled “Revocable Trusts: Administration & Litigation in New York”,  with segments dedicated to planning strategies, funding and administration matters, challenges to trusts, setting aside transfers to trusts, and plans for a “new” New York Trust Code, among other topics.

Subsequent to the Seminar the Section held its Executive Committee Meeting, which Carl attended as the Immediate Past Chair.  The committee meeting is the organization’s reporting and voting session to deal with proposed new laws or statutory amendments addressing the Trusts and Estates practice in New York State.

The Section’s next meeting will be in Kiawah, South Carolina in April 2015, where Carl is Program Chair for two days of seminars on long term Trust planning for children and grandchildren.
