Carl T. Baker is a founding Partner leading the firm’s Trusts and Estates practice group with concentration in estate planning, wills and trusts, estate tax issues, and elder law. Mr. Baker joined our predecessor firm as an Associate Attorney in 1978, and was named a Partner in 1983. He has been recognized in Upstate New York Super Lawyers since 2007, The Best Lawyers in America since 1995, and Who’s Who in American Law, 7th Edition.

Admitted to practice in New York, Carl is a member of the New York State Bar Association and the Warren County Bar Association. He is also admitted to the United States District Court, Northern District of New York. He earned his JD from the Albany Law School of Union University. His undergraduate degree was conferred by Cornell University.

Carl is a Fellow of the American College of Trust and Estates Counsel (ACTEC), the Trusts and Estates Law Section of the New York State Bar Association (Section Chair 2013), the Warren County Bar Association (Director 1984-1986), and is a member of the New York State Bar Association, the American Bar Association (Real Property, Probate and Trust Law Section), and the Estate Planning Council of Eastern New York (member since 1979, President 1993-1994).

In our community Carl is a member of the Kiwanis Club of Glens Falls (member since 1980; President 1985-1986); Board of Governors of Glens Falls Hospital (1995–2006); and the Glens Falls Hospital Foundation (Trustee 1996-2007, Chair 2005).

In his free time, Carl enjoys all that the Adirondack Park has to offer and frequently hikes its many trails and kayaks nearby lakes and ponds.
