John Aspland, Jr. is the Managing Partner at FitzGerald Morris Baker Firth and the leader of the firm’s litigation practice group, with broad experience in general litigation, personal injury, insurance defense, criminal defense, employment litigation, civil rights, and municipal law. He joined the firm as an Associate Attorney in 2002, became a partner in 2004, and was elected Managing Partner in 2016.

Admitted to practice in New York, John is a member of the New York State Bar Association and the Suffolk County Bar Association. He is also admitted to the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit and the United States District Court, Northern and Eastern Districts of New York. He earned his JD from the Jacob D. Fuchsberg Law Center at Touro College. His undergraduate degree, with honors, was conferred by Siena College.

John is the Attorney of Record for the towns of Hartford, AuSable, and Lake Luzerne, New York, the Villages of Cambridge and Malone, New York, and the former Attorney of Record for the towns of Fort Ann, Broadalbin, and Kingsbury, New York. He’s a member of the Defense Research Institute – NENY and a member of and lecturer for the Public Risk Management Association (PRIMA). John has been a webinar presenter on the topic of prohibited sexual harassment for PRIMA as well.

In the community, John serves on the Board of Directors of the Adirondack Regional Chamber of Commerce and is a coach for the Foothills Rangers Rugby Club.

When he's able to take time away from work, John enjoys spending time with his family, the outdoors, weightlifting, and coaching a local rugby team.
