Kara Lais Named Equity Partner at FMBF

Kara LaisKara Lais, past president of the Adirondack Women’s Bar Association, a former New York State Delegate for the Warren County Bar Association, and an attorney with more than a decade of experience was named a partner at FitzGerald Morris Baker Firth, P.C.

Ms. Lais joins Carl T. Baker, John D. Aspland, Jr., and Lawrence Elmen as partners in the firm that has roots in Glens Falls dating to 1936.

“Kara is a tremendous strategist and advocate for her clients, and identifies solutions that are not always obvious to others,” said Mr. Elmen. “We have been honored to call her a colleague since 2003, and are proud to now call her a partner.”

Prior to being named partner in the Business, Real Estate practice group at the firm, Ms. Lais was the managing attorney in that section since 2013.

Active in promoting continuing improvements in the practice of law, Ms. Lais has held a number of key leadership positions in trade associations. She served as the Adirondack Chapter Delegate to the Women’s Bar Association of the State of New York (WBASNY), and in 2009, was co-chair of the 30th Annual WBASNY Convention.

She previously served as a New York State Delegate for the Warren County Bar Association, and was president of the Adirondack Women’s Bar Association from 2006 to 2008. She is also a member of the National Association of Bond Lawyers and the New York State Bar Association. Ms. Lais graduated from Leadership Saratoga in 2009, and serves on the boards of directors for the Saratoga Bridges Foundation and the Warren County EDC, and was the legal advisor for “Saratoga Reads!”
